Chapter 215 215: 6.24 - Gold Rank Eyes
Chapter 215 215: 6.24 - Gold Rank Eyes
Lucian's resources told him that Celine had returned to the academy, and that Edmund had tried to frame her again for staging her own kidnapment.
She probably needed an alibi. If she went missing for too long, some might suspect a pregnancy and birth.
At this point, Lucian was sure she was gathering hatred points from the whole kingdom.
The public had a low opinion of her, but his men reported that she refused to learn from her mistakes and continued her entitled attitude.
'Does it have something to do with the curse? Why else would her father tolerate her behavior if not for strengthening the curse's effect?' Lucian wondered as he held his son in his arms, returning from another of their little adventures.
He had finally reached the gold rank. A big accomplishment for some, but to him, it was just another step on the ladder.
He didn't feel any stronger than before, and his body didn't look any different either. His eyes thought? Now that was a different story.
They now could perceive the world better than ever. He could withstand bright lights, see through fog and smoke, and detect heat signatures.
What he meant by heat signatures was he could see a person's body temperature through their clothes. He could tell where their blood flowed faster, and where it was slower. Gold rank eyes were amazing.

Lucian didn't waste any time and immediately summoned Lion Head to his office after he put his son to sleep.
"I will start your third rank advancement," Lucian gestured for Lion Head to sit on the chair. This time he wanted to enter Lion's Head mind space without having to kill him.
Lion Head had no idea what to expect, so he sat down nervously, his large body barely fitting in the chair.
Lucian stood behind him and placed his hands on both of his temples, "Try to establish the telepathic link with me."
Lion Head's beast reacted violently to the intrusion. It roared and thrashed, trying to shake off the foreign presence. The color of its fur was a mixture of bronze and silver hues. Its spikes on its back and tail resembled an oversized porcupine. Its strength was in its speed, flashing around the mindspace like lightning.
Lucian had to be quick and forceful, manifesting his chains in the mindspace and capturing the beast before it could flee.
The beast snarled, biting at the chains, but they were unbreakable.
The 1st and 2nd ranked beast jumped in to aid Lucian.
Lion Head, the 1st ranked beast controlling the body, looked like a baby cub in comparison to the 2nd ranked one.
While the 2nd ranked beast was a little over two thirds of the size of the 3rd ranked one.
They attacked the 3rd rank, pinning it to the ground.
Lucian was two ranks above, got shackled powers, and had two beasts on his side so the third beast was at a great disadvantage. It submitted after a while, recognizing its loss.
Lucian immediately summoned the fourth ranked beast. This one was even larger than the third, with a more fierce aura.
The chains didn't affect the fourth ranked beast as it slept lazily in the mindspace, its eyes half closed, yawning at the sight of Lucian tugging at the chains connected to it.
Its paw flung the three beasts away, and it went back to sleep. Not even torture devices could make it budge.
"What's with this oversized lazy cat?" Lucian asked the three beasts, who licked their injuries pitifully.
The fourth one seemed to be a higher being, uninterested in the petty squabbles of the lower ranks.
Lion Head was in the same position as his son, with his butt up in the air and his head in the sand, "Master. If we don't defeat it, I won't be able to take control of the body anymore."
Lucian summoned fire, but the fourth ranked beast waved its paw again, making the flames dissipate in the air. It didn't even open its eyes to look at him.
Lucian rolled his sleeves up. The best thing about mind space was that he could fight in any way he wanted.
He launched himself at the beast, his feet hitting its side. The beast remained motionless, not reacting to his attacks. Its thick fur was like a shield, protecting it from any harm.
Lucian spun around, using the momentum to deliver a roundhouse kick to the beast's head.
The beast opened one eye, lifted a paw, and slapped Lucian away, but another Lucian was already behind it, punching its back. Too many flies were hard to ignore, even for a sleepy beast.
Mental images were usually vague, and it was easy to lose focus when creating them. Lucian, however, had been practicing since forever and was now pretty good at manifesting what he wanted.
While the Lucian inside Lion Head was dealing with the fourth ranked beast, the Lucian outside was using his tie to choke Lion Head's neck, attacking him physically as well.
The lack of oxygen forced the fourth ranked beast to take control of Lion Head's body. It grabbed Lucian's tie and he used his elbow to hit its neck, then tripped the chair to make the beast fall to the floor.
His leg quickly moved to lock the beast's arm to the ground while he wrapped the tie around its neck, tightening it.
The beast began to cough, its free hand scratching at the wooden floor, trying to escape. No matter how powerful it was in the mind space, it couldn't use the same strength in the real world. It had to follow the body's limitations.
Lucian pulled the tie harder, his knee against Lion Head's back, "Not as comfortable here, is it? Being dragged out of a good sleep has always made me cranky too."
Lion Head's eyes rolled to the back of his head, foam forming at his mouth. Torture would often make the beasts shut down and leave the body behind.
Lucian waited for a bit to make sure the beast retreated.
Lion Head choked on the air, his body shaking as he gulped down the oxygen, "Master..." he tried to talk, but his throat hurt too much, "It's me..."
Lucian patted his shoulder.
His consciousness remained inside Lion Head. The two ranked and newly obtained third ranked beasts went to play in their mindspace after Lucian managed to make the fourth one sulk in a corner. It was covering its head with its paw, a grumpy expression on its face as it continued its nap.
"Show me the outside view and sounds," Lucian ordered, conjuring a comfortable couch to lay on. He plopped himself on it and closed his eyes, perceiving the world through the body's senses.
It was a brand new experience since Lucian had to control two bodies at once. He kept sending Lion Head his intention so Lion Head could assist Lucian with moving the body and following the tasks given.
Lucian was mostly a spectator, but also had a partial control over the body, like a guide similar to Voice.
The next few hours were spent on practicing this new technique.
Lion Head was shocked to see his master able to control his body like a puppeteer, making him move and talk against his will.
"Alright," Lucian walked next to Lion Head in his own body, observing the man's exhausted expression.
The mental strain was the hardest part of staying in someone else's body for too long. It was like walking in heavy armor for hours. Lion Head's mind becamy heavy and sluggish, not yet used to the new strain despite advancing a rank.
Lucian cut the connection, only leaving behind a copy of his image, so he would have an easier time contacting Lion Head.
Lion Head walked inside his bedroom to tidy up his space without Lucian having to explain the details. A single intention was enough.
One done, three hundred and ninety nine ferals left to go.
'I also have to make sure that any distance wouldn't affect my control.'
He would keep half of them behind to protect his son, and take the other half with him to the sea.
He planned to check on Celine on his way there, and suddenly became a bit excited about the meeting, like a teenage boy going on a date.
He shook his head at his own silliness.
She was probably cursing him for abandoning her for so long, and he was looking forward to her wrathful face.

Calculated_Void had no idea he would be a single cell in the server when he made it there, so he is feeling a bit lonely and would like to see some people to chat with. (Just a joke, I bet he is plotting to turn you into fellow degenerates with his novel recommendations, so proceed with caution.) 🤺
