Chapter 1067: Good Baby
Chapter 1067: Good Baby
"Daddy..." called Baby in Charles Seymour’s arms, her voice soft and tender, sounding like a child of just two or three, acting spoiled and making hearts melt."Daddy’s here." Charles responded, "Baby, are you uncomfortable?"
Baby blinked her big eyes and softly said, "I’m not uncomfortable."
Charles smiled tenderly, lifting the corners of his mouth a little, "Baby is really brave, Daddy will rub you, and soon you won’t feel uncomfortable."
"Okay." Baby gently agreed.
Charles took Baby’s tender little hand in his own, rubbing it with just the right amount of force to warm it up.
Baby moaned comfortably twice, her moist eyes looking at her father, curving like crescent moons.
"Daddy, where’s Mommy?" Baby’s soft, sticky voice caused Charles’ movements to pause for a moment, then he continued naturally, answering, "Wait a little longer, Daddy will bring Mommy home to be with Baby, okay?"
"Okay." Baby nodded happily.
Charles looked down at the smiling, happy Baby and revealed a smile himself.
Baby’s fingers gently moved, hooking Charles’ slightly rough fingers, amusing him with her soft actions.
——
Old Mrs. Seymour worried, got up around five the next day, and went to Baby’s room. Listening in, she heard no movement inside, so she gently pushed the door.
As soon as the door opened slightly, Old Mrs. Seymour saw Charles’ open eyes, showing no sign of sleepiness, clearly indicating he hadn’t slept all night.
Old Mrs. Seymour lightened her steps, quietly walked to the bedside, and almost in a whisper, asked, "How is it?"
"The fever’s gone down." Charles also lowered his voice, but he still held Baby in his arms, clearly indicating he held her all night.
Old Mrs. Seymour nodded in relief, then went out to arrange breakfast.
Since Charles hadn’t slept all night, Baby needed to eat something nutritious.
Baby awoke at seven in the morning, her butterfly-wing-like eyelashes fluttered twice as she opened her eyes, looked at her father in front of her, and before speaking, gave a big smile, hugged her father’s neck, and first offered a loving kiss, loudly calling out, "Daddy."
"Yes." Charles replied happily, "Baby, are you uncomfortable?"
"Not uncomfortable." Baby touched her forehead with her small hand, her hand too short, her head too big, only managing to touch her forehead by tilting her head, "Not hot anymore."
"That’s the fever gone down, Baby is better." Charles said with a smile, "Come, Baby, lie down first, Daddy will wipe your body."
"Dirty." Baby’s little nose twitched twice, as if smelling something.
Charles humorously wiped her little nose, "Not stinky. Baby sweated, let’s clean off the sweat."
"Clean." Baby repeated in her soft voice.
Charles fetched water, then carefully cleaned Baby and changed her into new clothes.
Charles also changed all the sheets and tucked the clean Baby into bed.
Baby’s two little hands grabbed the blanket, covering her face, only her two clean and clear large eyes innocently looking at Charles.
Charles rubbed Baby’s head with his big hand and said, "Today Daddy will stay home with Baby, not going anywhere."
The little one’s eyes immediately sparkled, then dimmed again, her tiny body wriggling under the blanket, revealing her rosy little mouth, "Daddy needs to stay with Mommy."
