Chapter 314: Legendary-Level Item
Chapter 314: Legendary-Level Item
「In the deepest part of the Endless Maze.」
Li Wei and the Fire Element Elder stood before a prison cell.
Li Wei asked, "Can you help me take care of him?"
The Fire Element Elder gazed at the Legendary Level Werewolf Warrior trapped inside the cell.
He mulled it over for a moment before saying, "Killing it won’t be difficult."
"All the restrictions in the Divine Prison are aimed at the prisoners. Standing out here, we won’t be affected."
"This counts as one time," the Fire Element Elder said.
Li Wei nodded. "Alright."
The Fire Element Elder waved his hand, and a Magic Staff materialized in his palm.
With just a glance, Li Wei could tell this Magic Staff was extraordinary.
Wielding the Legendary Level Magic Staff, the Fire Element Elder began Casting an attack on the werewolf trapped in the cage.
"Body-Burning Fire!"
Without any perceptible movement from the Elder, red flames erupted on the werewolf’s body.
The werewolf let out unending howls as it burned in the red fire.
Under the Fire Element Elder’s control, the red flames didn’t touch the Forbidden Magic Chains in the slightest.
The werewolf struggled while it howled in agony.
But the more it struggled, the stronger the Divine Prison’s suppression became.
Gradually, the werewolf’s aura began to weaken.
Its life force slowly faded.
The Fire Element Elder said, "This is a Legendary Level Werewolf, after all. Werewolves are famous for their self-healing abilities, so it can’t be killed in a short time."
"Because of the Divine Prison’s limitations, I can’t use a more powerful attack. We’ll have to wait."
Taking advantage of the wait, Li Wei asked about the Divine Prison.
"This place is the Divine Prison? Who built it?" Li Wei asked.
The Fire Element Elder was bored anyway, so he explained it to Li Wei.
"I don’t know who built the Divine Prison. Perhaps only Lord Flame Dominator knows," the Fire Element Elder said.
Li Wei asked, "Is the Divine Prison for imprisoning Divine Spirits? Or is it a prison that belongs to a Divine Spirit?"
The Fire Element Elder said, "The Divine Prison doesn’t belong to any Divine Spirit. It existed in this world long before Divine Spirits even appeared. What you’re seeing is merely a part of it."
"Many monsters even more powerful than ordinary Divine Spirits are imprisoned here."
"For example, the legendary World-destroying Serpent."
An idea struck Li Wei, and he asked, "Does that serpent have a hundred heads?"
The Fire Element Elder looked at him with some surprise, then nodded and said, "That’s what the legends say, but no one has ever seen it."
"The rumor is that for anyone who has seen the World-destroying Serpent, their world has already been destroyed."
"And if the world is destroyed, there are naturally no survivors."
Li Wei pointed to a massive cage in the distance.
He said, "The World-destroying Serpent you mentioned might be locked up over there. I just saw it."
The flames in the Fire Element Elder’s eyes flickered in shock. He found it hard to believe.
"So the legends are actually true."
Li Wei said, "This place is now called the Endless Maze. Don’t humans know the truth about it?"
The Fire Element Elder composed himself and said, "Not necessarily. If someone has entered this place before, they would definitely know the truth."
"I know that your Elemental Tower calls this place the Endless Maze. Occasionally, Human Mages summon me to the Main Plane, and I’ve heard things about it."
"It was probably called the Endless Maze from the very beginning, and even after they discovered it was the Divine Prison, the name was never changed publicly."
"To the vast majority of people, whether it’s the Endless Maze or the Divine Prison is irrelevant."
Li Wei nodded, realizing that the upper echelons of the Elemental Tower might be hiding the truth about the Divine Prison.
Someone from the Elemental Tower must have reached the depths of the Endless Maze before.
Even if the person who came in didn’t recognize it as the Divine Prison, as long as they made it out alive and brought back information about what was inside, people on the outside would know this was the Divine Prison.
Li Wei chatted with the Fire Element Elder for a while longer.
The Legendary Werewolf finally died in the flames.
It had already suffered hundreds, even thousands of years of torture.
It was already on its last breath.
Death was now a release.
But even in death, the Forbidden Magic Chains on its body were still active, binding its remains.
Li Wei used his Object Control Skill to pluck the Blood Soul Flower from the corner of the cage, which had been nourished by the blood of a Legendary Creature.
When the Fire Element Elder saw the Blood Soul Flower, his gaze flickered slightly.
The Blood Soul Flower was of no use to him.
He was an Element creature.
He didn’t need a Blood Soul Flower to fuse his soul and flesh.
However, he instinctively thought of his mortal enemy, the Legendary Witch Lich.
To a Legendary Witch Lich, the Blood Soul Flower was an absolute treasure.
The Fire Element Elder watched Li Wei quietly, neither saying nor doing anything.
Just as Li Wei was about to leave,
the Fire Element Elder reminded him, "Aren’t you going to take the things from the Legendary Werewolf?"
Li Wei was surprised. "What else is there? Wasn’t it all burned to a crisp?"
The Fire Element Elder waved his hand, and two sharp wolf fangs flew out from the charred remains.
He said, "If I’m not mistaken, this werewolf was very likely the Legendary Powerhouse from thirteen hundred years ago, Death Hunter."
"I don’t know why the renowned Death Hunter would have fallen to such a state."
"However, Death Hunter had a very famous ability—the Lethal Attack."
"Its wolf fangs possess an incredibly powerful Extraordinary Trait that can inflict a lethal effect on any target they hit."
"It’s even somewhat effective against Legendary Level powerhouses."
The Fire Element Elder handed the two sharp Death Wolf Fangs to Li Wei.
Li Wei was a little surprised. These were already Legendary Level treasures.
’Why is the Fire Element Elder giving these to me?’
The Fire Element Elder seemed to see through his confusion and said flatly, "I am merely a projected Shadow Clone. I have no way of taking the Death Wolf Fangs with me."
"It would be a waste to leave them here. I might as well give them to you as a favor."
Seeing this, Li Wei carefully accepted the two Death Wolf Fangs.
"Thank you."
’Two more trump cards.’
’However, it won’t be easy to injure a Legendary Level powerhouse even with the Death Wolf Fangs.’
’Could I forge these two Death Wolf Fangs into a weapon?’ Li Wei wondered.
’A weapon with an instant-death effect.’
’That would be far more convenient than just holding them in my hands.’
The Fire Element Elder said, "I’m leaving. Call me again if you need something."
"You have one more chance."
’I have to save the last chance for the Legendary Witch Lich.’
Li Wei watched the Fire Element Elder depart.
He glanced around, planning to check out the other Divine Prisons.
Even if there was nothing to gain, it would be an eye-opening experience.
Li Wei flew toward the nearest Divine Prison in the Void.
Crossing the Void, Li Wei landed in front of an enormous Divine Prison.
He had a bad feeling.
’If the Divine Prison is this large, the monster imprisoned inside must also be incredibly powerful.’
After hesitating outside for a moment, he cautiously walked into the massive Divine Prison.
After walking for a long time, Li Wei finally saw what was imprisoned within the Divine Prison.
A mountain of blood-red flesh.
Countless Forbidden Magic Chains pierced the mountain of flesh, pinning it within the Divine Prison.
Dense, arcane divine runes floated in mid-air, enveloping the entire mountain of flesh.
