Chapter 361 Woman, You're Playing with Fire
Chapter 361 Woman, You're Playing with Fire
The three of them strolled around until the sun was setting before returning to the palace.
After dinner, Lin Chen sat alone in a side hall drinking.
Lan Fenghuang went to the temple again, saying she wanted to spend more time talking with the high priest. Before leaving, she kissed Lin Chen and whispered in his ear, "Don't wait for me tonight."
A-Yue served Lin Chen, pouring him wine and serving him food, bustling around like a busy little bee.
Lin Chen drank a few glasses of wine, then got bored and got up to leave.
After leaving the side hall, we walked through a long corridor and arrived at the back garden.
There is an old banyan tree in the yard. Its canopy is so large that it covers half of the yard, like a giant umbrella. The trunk is so thick that three people cannot wrap their arms around it.
Moonlight filtered through the leaves, scattering silver fragments across the ground like scattered stars, as if a starry sky had been opened.
Lingbo was standing under the tree, hands behind her back, looking at the moon.
Lin Chen walked over, leaned against a tree, and crossed his arms.
"Why are you here all alone?"
Lingbo didn't even glance at Lin Chen, and said indifferently:
"Peace and tranquility".
"Too noisy?" Lin Chen smiled.
"The place I went to today was indeed a bit noisy, it was both a martial arts training ground and a market."
But you're the kind of person who finds everything noisy, even your own heartbeat, isn't it?
Lingbo didn't say anything.
Lin Chen looked at Ling Bo and suddenly asked, "What are your plans for the future?"
Lingbo shifted her gaze to Lin Chen, "What? What do we do?"
"It's just..." Lin Chen thought for a moment, then gestured.
"You can't follow me all the time, can you? You go wherever I go, like a shadow. You even follow me to the bathroom?"
Lingbo remained expressionless as she looked at Lin Chen.
Lin Chen raised his hands in surrender: "Okay, okay, just kidding. Seriously though, don't you have anything to do yourself?"
Lingbo paused for a moment, then said calmly, "I will follow you."
Lin Chen raised an eyebrow: "Always?"
Lingbo didn't answer, she just looked at Lin Chen.
Under the moonlight, her eyes shone brightly, like two bottomless ancient wells, with no end in sight.
Lin Chen felt a little uneasy under her gaze and touched his nose.
Why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face?
Lingbo withdrew her gaze and said calmly, "There's something on your face."
Lin Chen quickly touched his face:
"What is it? Is it dirty? Or is it stained with something?"
Lingbo didn't say anything, and turned to leave.
Lin Chen stood there, stunned, unable to react for a long time.
When she came to her senses, Lingbo had already disappeared behind the moon gate. Her white clothes flashed in the moonlight and vanished like a ghost.
Lin Chen touched his face, left and right, but found nothing.
"This woman..." He shook his head and chuckled, "She's playing me again."
Then he turned around and walked back, humming a little tune, in an extremely good mood.
When we arrived at the entrance of the side hall, A-Yue had already made the bed, with the bedding neatly arranged and the pillows placed in the right places.
But she didn't go up.
She stood in the middle of the room, wearing a thin gauze dress, her hair down to her waist.
She wore light makeup, with a touch of red at the corner of her eye, making her look like a flower quietly blooming in the night.
Lin Chen stood at the door, stunned for a moment.
When A-Yue saw Lin Chen, she blushed, but did not lower her head.
She took a deep breath, walked to the open space in the middle of the room, and looked directly at Lin Chen.
"Your Highness," Ah Yue's voice trembled slightly, but she tried her best to steady herself, "Ah Yue... wants to dance for Your Highness."
Lin Chen leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, and smiled, raising an eyebrow:
"Jump!"
A-Yue took a deep breath, raised her hand, and began to dance.
It wasn't the kind of group dance we did in the palace last night; it was a solo dance.
It was performed only for Lin Chen.
Her body flowed like water, and her arms were so soft they seemed boneless.
As she swayed her waist, her gauze dress fluttered, and moonlight shone in through the window, falling on her, making her seem to glow.
Her footsteps were very light, almost making no sound on the ground, but every step felt like a blow to Lin Chen's heart.
The silver ornaments were gone, and there was no jingling sound.
But her body itself is a musical instrument.
When she spun around, her hair flew up like a black flag.
Her eyes were fixed on Lin Chen, not in a timid way, but boldly and passionately, with something indescribable.
Lin Chen leaned against the door frame, his smile slowly fading, and his eyes changed.
It wasn't that kind of spectator look anymore.
It's the way a man looks at a woman.
A-Yue jumped faster and faster, getting hotter and hotter, her gauze dress fluttering in the moonlight, appearing and disappearing.
Her breathing became more and more rapid, her chest heaving, and fine beads of sweat glistened on her forehead in the moonlight.
With one last turn, she stopped in front of Lin Chen.
It's very close to Lin Chen.
They were so close that their breaths could hit Lin Chen's face.
A-Yue raised her head and looked at Lin Chen, her eyes shining like two stars, her lips slightly parted, panting.
"Your Highness..." Her voice was as soft as a sigh.
Lin Chen looked down at her, reached out, pinched her chin, and lifted it up.
"What's the name of this dance?" Lin Chen's voice was a little hoarse.
A-Yue blushed and whispered, "The peacock spreads its tail feathers to please the emperor!"
"A peacock displaying its tail feathers?"
"Mmm," Ah Yue's face flushed slightly.
"This is a dance specially performed for one's beloved... Sister Lan said... that she won't be here tonight, and asked A-Yue to... take good care of the Prince."
Lin Chen paused for a moment, then smiled.
Blue Phoenix, oh Blue Phoenix, you are truly... so sensible.
Lin Chen lowered his head, leaned close to A-Yue's ear, and whispered:
"Do you even know what's going to happen tonight?"
A-Yue's body trembled slightly, her ears turned bright red, but her voice remained firm:
"I...I know."
Are you scared?
A-Yue bit her lip and shook her head.
"Aren't you afraid?...A little." A-Yue's voice was adorably honest.
Lin Chen smiled, released her chin, put his arm around her waist, and pulled her into his embrace.
"And now?"
A-Yue leaned against Lin Chen's chest and could hear his heartbeat, steady and strong.
She closed her eyes, her voice as soft as a dream: "No... I'm not afraid anymore."
Lin Chen bent down and picked her up in his arms.
A-Yue gasped, hugged Lin Chen's neck, buried her face in his shoulder, and dared not look up.
Lin Chen carried her to the bedside and put her down.
A-Yue lay on the bed, her gauze dress spread out, her hair spread on the pillow, her eyes closed, her eyelashes trembling like butterflies fluttering their wings.
Lin Chen stood by the bed, looked at A Yue, and chuckled, "Open your eyes."
A-Yue opened her eyes, looked at Lin Chen, and her eyes were filled with tears.
"Look at me," Lin Chen said.
A-Yue looked at Lin Chen and stopped hiding.
Lin Chen leaned down and kissed her forehead, then the tip of her nose, and then her lips.
It's very light.
Like a dragonfly skimming the water.
A-Yue's body tensed up, then slowly relaxed, her fingers gripping his collar tightly.
"Your Highness..." Her voice was choked with sobs.
"Um?"
"Ah Yue... Ah Yue, this is your first time..."
Lin Chen's lips curled slightly, and he chuckled softly, "I know."
With that, he flicked his sleeve and extinguished the lamp.
Moonlight streamed in through the window, making the room not completely dark, but hazy, as if through a veil.
Ah Yue's voice was intermittent, like a kitten meowing.
At first, I was nervous, and my voice was a little tearful.
Later it softened, like melted sugar.
And then, all that was left was...
