Chapter 180 Proof of Legend
Thor woke up feeling refreshed. With his strength continuing to improve, the energy consumed when loading the intermediate monster template no longer posed much of a burden on him.
He flapped his broad wings and leaped out of the churning lava, shook his body, and showered down golden rain before roaring wildly.
A deafening roar exploded in mid-air, causing ripples in the air. The sound waves enveloped an area of several kilometers, and all who heard it prostrated themselves in terror.
After venting his anger, he turned to examine his body, which had grown slightly longer than before. Scales resembling those of a thunder wolf dragon appeared on his back and the outside of his limbs. His claws had lengthened slightly, and black lightning occasionally streaked across the flames rising from his body.
For Thor, each time he loads a monster template, it's a physical evolution, and his strength naturally increases accordingly.
He glanced at his personal simplified panel in his mind and found that after loading the Black Eclipse Dragon and Thunder Wolf Dragon templates, his challenge level had quietly climbed to 19+.
Having reached this level of strength, Thor could vaguely sense an invisible barrier blocking his path. It wasn't sturdy, more like a thin sheet of paper, easily pierced with the slightest force.
The dragon's legacy in his mind told him that this was the pursuit of the vast majority of life, even true dragons, and was proof of the legend.
Once this obstacle is overcome, one can completely break free from the mortal body, enter the realm of legend, and begin to wield power over the world.
However, the path to acquiring such powerful strength is naturally fraught with difficulties.
First and foremost, the most basic requirement is that you must reach level 19 in the challenge; only then are you qualified to cross that threshold.
After that, they would either kill powerful ancient dragons, demon lords, or renowned figures, using their deaths as nourishment to elevate their own lives to the extreme.
You must either endure a thousand bloody battles without dying, challenge extreme natural environments, break through the limits of life in desperate situations, and forge your own "invincible battle scars".
One must either rule over all races, becoming the supreme ruler of all life in a kingdom or even an empire, and, through the will of the people, forge one's own legendary legacy.
They must either undergo arduous trials, inherit the weapons and traditions of their predecessors, and continue their legendary stories.
One must either gain the approval of the world or some source of power, becoming their agent in the world.
For higher beings, there is a simplest yet most demanding way: to continuously purify their bloodline and awaken the hidden power within it, thereby automatically crossing that threshold.
The invisible barrier that Thor sensed was undoubtedly a legendary threshold that would be an insurmountable chasm for most lives. And the way he would cross this threshold was naturally through bloodline purification.
With the support of numerous monster templates, including the Black Eclipse Dragon which can grow into a powerful Elder Dragon, the pure life force transformed from it nourishes his bloodline, elevating him to an extremely exaggerated level.
For him, advancing to legendary status was as easy as eating and drinking, as long as he grew step by step.
The enormous commotion had already startled the surrounding creatures. When they saw the huge dragon shadow slowly descending from the sky, riding on waves of flame, several impatient creatures immediately swarmed over.
Leilia flapped her tattered wings, and although she wobbled a bit while flying, she was not slow at all. She landed at Thor's feet first, prostrated herself on the ground, and praised him loudly.
"Great Red Dragon, congratulations on your ever-growing power! You shine as brightly as the rising sun. Compared to your radiance, the entire world pales in comparison. Please allow me to follow your flames forever, to the ends of the earth—"
Thor glanced down at the blue dragon, who was lying on the ground with his rear end slightly raised. He had no idea that this guy had such a good way of speaking.
But these were merely statements of fact, not enough to earn his praise. He simply raised his head slightly and hummed it as if it were perfectly natural.
"The fact that you could see that shows that you, little lizard, are quite perceptive."
The next moment, he felt an itch on his front paws. It turned out that the blue dragon in front of him had secretly circled around and gently hooked its tail around his scales. He immediately swung it hard without hesitation.
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
"Enough! You rubbing your face everywhere, that's no excuse for you to overstep your bounds! Go bring that blue piece of trash over here, I have questions for him!"
Leilia felt a sharp pain in the tip of her tail and had no choice but to retract it, respectfully get up from the ground, and run towards the foot of the mountain.
Several dragon-blooded kobolds suddenly appeared out of nowhere, directing their kin to serve up a continuous stream of various spirits and delicacies.
As he ate heartily, Thor recalled his brief encounter with the old man known as "Stormfang."
A body length of 30 meters is undoubtedly extraordinary for a mature blue dragon, and its challenge level should not be only level 17 or 18 like that of an ordinary mature blue dragon, but should reach level 19.
All true dragons that can reach level 19 challenge level in their prime will now pursue the goal of entering the legendary realm.
After all, not all dragons, if they live long enough, will necessarily become ancient dragons, prehistoric dragons, or even archaic dragons.
The vast majority of true dragons exhaust their bloodline potential when they reach adulthood, and their strength no longer increases naturally with age, but instead gradually declines.
At this point, they only have two paths before them: either rely on their own efforts to break through the legendary level and achieve a second growth of their bodies, or be trapped in the age range of old dragons or extremely old dragons, where they will slowly weaken, remain in a long sleep, and eventually be killed, even though they still have a long lifespan.
If nothing unexpected happens, the reason why the old dragon known as "Storm Fang" keeps expanding its territory is not only because of its evil dragon nature, but more importantly because it wants to unify the wilderness and obtain its own legendary proof.
Having figured this out, Thor couldn't help but sneer with disdain. In the end, he was nothing more than a guy with inferior blood.
Like the red dragon, it can reach the threshold of legend simply by growing naturally. Its bloodline potential has not been completely exhausted, which can provide it with powerful assistance.
The Golden Dragon is even more extraordinary. As long as its bloodline is pure and it has not suffered major injuries, it can naturally advance to the Legendary level, although it will take a little longer.
This old blue dragon, despite having a challenge level of 19, still had to rely on the will of all living beings to forge the proof of its legend. This indicates that its bloodline purity was insufficient, and its subsequent strength was all improved through its own efforts.
This old fellow enslaved Thor for more than half a year. Although Thor didn't suffer much during that time, he even managed to extract a lot of precious essences from those young dragons, which he used as his initial start-up capital.
But dragons are always vengeful, and Thor was no exception. He immediately decided to ruin the old man's plans.
