Chapter 1222: How Could I Ever Be Annoyed by You
Serena Zimmerman didn’t leave immediately after closing the door. Instead, she stood by the doorway and listened for a moment. Only after she didn’t hear Athena Linton causing any commotion did she leave, feeling assured.
She initially thought Easton Holmes and Athena would need a long time to talk things through. However, just ten minutes later, they appeared in the living room looking quite pleased.
"Uncle! Auntie! Athena has agreed to transfer schools. We’ll take her with us when we leave tomorrow," Easton Holmes announced the outcome of his conversation with Athena as soon as he stepped into the living room.
Upon hearing this, Athena nodded in agreement and said, "Mom! Hurry up and pack my things. Tomorrow I’m leaving with Grandpa and the others for Flame City."
She seemed extremely excited, completely different from before.
Serena was practically in disbelief, looking between Easton Holmes and Athena Linton, "You’ve really decided to go to Flame Country with your brother?"
She heard and saw everything clearly, yet she couldn’t believe it was true.
"I’ve really decided, Mom! Stop asking questions and hurry upstairs to pack for me." Athena urged her mom again, looking eager.
Serena didn’t say anything further but internally she kept wondering. She hadn’t been able to resolve it despite all her efforts, yet someone else managed to do it swiftly. Her daughter even seemed quite happy.
"Mom! Hurry up."
Noticing her mom sitting motionless, Athena prompted again.
"Got it."
Serena immediately brushed aside her thoughts, stood up, and after greeting Callix and Amelia Linton, she left the living room.
Seeing her mom leave, Athena sat down next to Lily Turner, and eagerly looped her arm around Lily’s, "Goddess Sister! Now I can see you every day, that’s great! You won’t get tired of me, right?"
She leaned her head against Lily and started to stick to her.
"How could I ever get tired of someone as cute as you?" Lily Turner, although unaware of what exactly transpired, knew Athena’s transfer was closely related to her. She couldn’t possibly resent it; she really liked Athena, her adorable sister-in-law.
Upon hearing this, Athena tightened her grip around Lily’s arm, "I knew Goddess Sister wouldn’t get tired of me."
Her face, at this moment, was only filled with a happy smile, with no other expression visible.
Seeing his sister clinging to his wife like that, Easton Holmes felt quite annoyed, although he knew he couldn’t say or do anything. He didn’t want to upset this little girl, as upsetting her would only make her stubborn again.
"Athena! Aren’t you going upstairs to help Auntie pack? Does Auntie know what you want to bring?" Lily Turner looked at Athena, leaning her head against her shoulder, and reminded her to go pack.
Athena suddenly sat up straight and then stood up, not even responding to Lily Turner. She dashed out of the living room.
Seeing this, not only Lily Turner but also everyone else present seemed puzzled, completely unsure of what was happening.
Easton Holmes, however, didn’t concern himself much with Athena’s sudden dash upstairs. Smiling, he went over to sit next to Lily Turner. His wife was amazing; she easily got that little girl to leave.
