Chapter 243 - 242 Massage

Chapter 243 - 242 Massage

In the afternoon, Ye Hao caught the last shuttle bus to the city.Gu’s father mentioned that prenatal exams require an early start.

Because Gu Yi needs to have an empty stomach for the checkup.

So he rushed over tonight, so he can accompany Gu Yi to the hospital tomorrow.

Ye Hao knocked on Gu Yi’s door for quite a while, but nobody answered.

After pondering, he thought she might be at her mom’s place instead.

He quickly headed to Ye’s mother’s place.

When he knocked the door open and stepped in, he saw everyone was having dinner.

Gu Yi and Gu’s father were present.

Sun Ming was also there.

The Ye family parents sat together, Ye Qian and Sun Ming sat together, one on each side was Gu Yi and Gu’s father.

Ye Qian and Gu Yi seemed to be talking about something amusing, laughing heartily.

"Haven’t had dinner yet, right? Come quickly, join us for a meal."

Gu’s father said with a smile when he saw Ye Hao.

Ye’s mother quickly brought out a set of utensils from the kitchen, placing them next to Gu Yi.

Sun Ming stood up hurriedly, bringing over a chair for Ye Hao and setting it in place.

"Hao Hao, come and eat!"

Ye’s mother said as she returned to her seat.

"Have a seat."

Gu Yi clumsily shifted her chair to the side.

Worried she might fall, Ye Hao quickly stepped in to stop her.

"No need to move, there’s enough space to fit."

Finished saying, Ye Hao quickly sat down next to Gu Yi.

Throughout the meal, Gu Yi kept telling Ye Hao not to add more food to her plate.

Ye Hao, however, kept saying that she needed to eat more.

Everyone at the table just watched the couple show their affection.

After finishing the meal and taking a short rest, Gu Yi and Ye Hao went out for a walk.

"Shall we walk directly back?"

Ye Hao, worried that Gu Yi might get tired carrying her belly, asked as soon as they went downstairs.

"Let’s walk around the school track for a bit."

Gu Yi suggested.

"Wouldn’t that be too tiring for you?"

Ye Hao asked with some concern.

"It’s okay, the doctor also suggests moving around more to ensure a smoother delivery."

Ye Hao indeed didn’t know there was such a saying.

"Alright then, let’s take a walk on the track. Slow down, and if you get tired, we’ll take a break."

Ye Hao thought that if the doctor said it, it must be right, so he supported Gu Yi as they headed toward the school while advising her.

Gu Yi looked at Ye Hao’s cautious demeanor.

She couldn’t help but smile widely.

As the weather grew hotter, there were quite a few people exercising on the track.

Holding Gu Yi, Ye Hao was also distracted keeping an eye out to prevent others from bumping into her.

"If I’m not around and you want to go for a walk, make sure to have Mom and Qianqian accompany you. Don’t go out alone, and avoid crowded places."

Ye Hao said worriedly.

"Okay, I got it. You can relax a bit, it’s not as scary as you think."

Gu Yi understood that Ye Hao was concerned for her well-being, but he was just a bit too nervous.

"Hmm, I’ll try to adapt. It feels a bit weird, though. When you’re not around, I miss you a lot, but after seeing you and realizing there’s this little one growing day by day without me knowing, I’m happy, but also worried that having him might somehow hurt you."

As Ye Hao said this, he couldn’t help but grip Gu Yi’s hand a little tighter.

"This is a process every woman has to go through, nothing will happen. The baby is especially good; even during that particularly sad time, she stayed quietly in my belly, and up until now, she hasn’t given me much trouble. She’s surely very, very well-behaved. Let’s look forward to the day we meet her happily, okay?"

Gu Yi knew what Ye Hao was fearful of, but she would do her best to avoid any bad situations. Owing her daughter in a past life, she was determined to keep her healthy and safe this life.

Making every effort to make up for past-life regrets.

In the past life, she hadn’t gone to the hospital until giving birth, naively got pregnant and didn’t pay particular attention since.

Luckily, Huanhuan was born healthy.

In this life, ever since learning about the pregnancy, she frequently visited the hospital and always followed the doctor’s advice.

"Alright."

If it weren’t for the crowd outside, Ye Hao would surely have leaned in for a kiss.

However, he wrapped his arm around Gu Yi more tightly.

After their walk, Ye Hao escorted Gu Yi to her doorstep.

"You go in and wash up first, I’ll be back shortly."

Ye Hao said as he closed the door for Gu Yi, then turned to leave.

"How come you came back alone, where’s Ye Hao?"

Gu’s father had arrived a moment earlier, and seeing Gu Yi coming in by herself, hurriedly asked.

The two had been so lovey-dovey just now, how could they bear to part? Could it be that they had a spat?

But judging by Gu Yi’s expression, it didn’t seem like it.

"He should have gone back for some clothes and toiletries. There’s none of his stuff here."

Gu Yi explained.

Gu’s father nodded, not saying anything further.

"You go ahead and wash up. Once you’re done, I’ll take a shower too. It’s getting hotter these days, moving around makes me sweat a lot."

Gu’s father usually lets Gu Yi wash up first, fearing that he might leave the bathroom wet and that she might slip and fall, which would be quite disastrous.

After Gu Yi finished her shower, Ye Hao was already sitting on the living room sofa.

Gu’s father showered first and then went straight to his room.

Ye Hao hastily showered too and went to Gu Yi’s room.

Gu Yi was leaning against the bed reading a book, and when Ye Hao entered, she glanced up to see his hair still dripping wet.

"Why is your hair still dripping? Get a towel to dry it."

She pointed to a towel hanging over the back of a chair.

"I rushed it a bit and didn’t get a chance to dry it properly."

Ye Hao said with a silly grin, grabbing the towel to dry his hair again.

Gu Yi chuckled along, setting aside the book as she prepared to rest.

Ye Hao, having dried his hair, saw Gu Yi surrounding herself with a pile of pillows.

"What are you doing?"

He asked curiously.

"The belly is getting bigger, sleeping is a bit uncomfortable, so I use pillows to prop my feet or support my back, it’s much more comfortable that way."

Gu Yi naturally explained.

"Then let me massage your legs."

Gu Yi’s words made Ye Hao realize her hardships, and though he couldn’t help share the burden, he wanted to help her relax.

"Sure, my legs are a bit sore."

Gu Yi lay down directly after saying so, stretching her legs out onto the pillows.

Ye Hao gently massaged her.

"Is it comfortable?"

After a while, Ye Hao looked up to ask.

But found that Gu Yi had already fallen asleep.

Ye Hao massaged for a bit longer before stopping.

He tucked Gu Yi in with the blanket, got up to turn off the light.

Then lay down beside Gu Yi.

He gently kissed Gu Yi on the forehead.

Uncertain whether it was Ye Hao’s kiss tickling her, or she was just a bit uncomfortable in her sleep, she turned over, lying on her side facing Ye Hao.

Ye Hao propped Gu Yi’s back with a pillow, removing all the pillows on his side.

Placing Gu Yi’s arms and legs over himself.

Bathed in the moonlight from outside, he gazed at Gu Yi’s sleeping face.

Ye Hao closed his eyes, savoring Gu Yi’s unique fragrance.

He soon drifted into sweet slumber.
